Local artist Pati O'Neal of Kaneohe, a member of the American Society of Aviation Artists, has been honored with the acceptance of her work in the ASAA 2010 International Aerospace Art Exhibition at the San Diego Aerospace Museum. Ms. O'Neal was one of forty-two artists from around the world whose work was selected. The display opens 8 June and runs through 10 September. Her painting, titled “AA Flagship Detroit”, depicts an American Airlines DC-3 in its shining glory while capturing the feel of the era. Her work, “Rise and Shine Cubs”, shows two J3 Cubs in a small hangar at the beginning of a new day, and “Staggerwing Reflections”, is an oil painting of a Beech Staggerwing showing off its colors as it reflects the setting sun.
